Chemical Injury and the Courts: A Litigation Guide for Clients and Their Attorneys
Published in Paperback by McFarland & Company (July, 1999)
Author: Linda Price King
Average review score:

A Must read for Environmental Groups Everywhere
Chemical Injury and the Courts, is an essential read for every environmental activist. Immeasurable hours of time and energy will be saved, because of this book. Many valuable examples of what other groups have gone through are cited and as a environmental veteran of many fights I believe me this is priceless information! Step by step assistance and checkpoints in choosing a lawyer for your environmental fight detailed in easy to understand instructions.

Important questions your group needs to ask are listed one by one. Questions that when addressed properly could save your group thousands of dollars in their fight for environmental justice. Your choice of lawyer may be the key issue in whether you win or loose your case, and this book helps you to better make that decision.

As an added bonus, this book is written from the point of view of one that has been there. Linda Price King has worked extensively with grass roots environmental groups around the country. So often, books written for the environmental movement by so called professionals and advisors are clueless to how an actual environmental battle is carried on. Miss King uses all of her expertise and experience in providing a book that will help environmental groups in their battles and that is a victory for all hard working grassroots environmental groups everywhere.

Chief Left Hand, Southern Arapaho (The Civilization of the American Indian Series ; V. 159)

Chief Left Hand
A great read for anyone interested in the history of the Plains Indian tribes. It brought to life one of the lessor known, but influential, Indian chiefs of the region. I also learned a great deal about the settling of the Denver/Boulder communities during the Colorado gold rush days.

Child of the King, A
Published in Paperback by PublishAmerica (25 November, 2002)
Author: Joanne Blundell Marsh
Average review score:

Refiner's Fire
The realities of 'equipping oneself' for intimate struggle and perseverance are beautifully portrayed in Joanne Blundell Marsh's A CHILD OF THE KING. Uplifting and encouraging, her tale, though sad at times, is better than many arenas of public worship in it directness of will and personal resolve. Ms. Marsh gives us her will of endurance, a mighty asset in an oft too cruel reality. This work is a true mark of the radiance brought about by the refiner's fire. ---- Stephanie S. China's Response to the West: A Documentary Survey, 1839-1923
Published in Paperback by Harvard Univ Pr (November, 1979)
Authors: Ssu-Yu Teng, Ssu-Tu Teng, and John King Fairbank
Average review score:

The best history book I've ever read
If you want to understand how China could fall from being the worlds most powerful nation to a third rate power in the 1930's this is the book.

It just provides the documents, you can do your own analysis.

Read official correspondence from the forbidden city to the Queen of England, letters between ministers demonstrating just how poorly the Chinese understood the importance of technology and industrialization.

This book is enlightening.
